KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Gilbert L. Ferguson, 77, died Sunday, July 25, 200 4, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Ferguson was born in Anders on County, S.C., a son of the late Robert "Bert" and Celesti Ashley Fergus on. He was a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service, having served as postmast er for the Kernersville Post Office, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was p receded in death by a son, Michael D. Ferguson; and seven brothers and sis ters. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Linville Ferguson of the home; a s on and daughter-in-law, Chris and Rene Ferguson of Kernersville; and a sis ter, Marcelle Orlando of Oak Ridge, Tenn. He was "Poppy" to his grandchild ren, Tara Moore and her husband, Travis, Megan Greene, Caitlin Greene, Ry an Ferguson and Blake Ferguson, all of Kernersville and Joshua Ferguson a nd Matthew Ferguson of Rural Hall; and several nieces and nephews. The fun eral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the Haywo rth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Eastla wn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tod ay, July 26, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Ka te B.
