KERNERSVILLE - Mabel Jones Beeson, 92, died Easter Sunday, March 31, 200 2. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-gra ndmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was born Nov. 20, 1909, to Lonnie and Percy Grissom Jones in High Poin t.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cyrus "Cy" Beeson of Kern ersville; and her sister, Mary Alice Tatum of Stuart, Va.
Mrs. Beeson was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, High Poin t. She was a life member and very active in the Loyal Order of the Moose a nd was a former salesperson and buyer for Tobias and Harlee's of High Poin t.
Surviving are her son, Jack Beeson and wife, Peggy, of Archdale; and a dau ghter, Betty Jo Beeson "Jo" Fitzpatrick and husband, Jim, of Kernersvill e. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Scott Beeson, Sheila Mill er and husband, Roy, Jacquelyn McDowell and husband, Kenneth, Tammy Pittm an and husband, David, Joyce Fitzpatrick and husband, Jay Stewart, and Dav id Fitzpatrick and wife, Jan; 12 great-grandchildren, John Beeson, Brad Be eson, Stephanie Lane, Valerie Peace, Brent McDowell, Jason McDowell, Jenni fer Wagner, Lauren Wagner, Ruth Shore Stewart, Marietta Stewart, Cyrus Ste wart and Kelsey Fitzpatrick; three great-great-grandchildren, Adam Peac e, Haley Lane and Emily Lane; and two nieces, Peggy Tatum Williams and Reb ecca Tatum Douthrige.
A funeral service will be held at 11a.m., April 3, 2002, at Hayworth-Mille r-Cain Funeral Chapel, 141 Smith Edwards Road, Kernersville. Burial wi ll be in Bunker Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends fr om 7 to 9 this evening, April 2, at the funeral home. In lieu of flower s, memorial gifts may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church, 1526 Sk eet Club Road, High Point, NC 27265; or The Shepherd's Center of Kernersvi lle, P.O. Box 2044, Kernersville, NC 27285. The world knew no more tend er heart.
