- The name of Beeson must ever be linked with that of the city of Uniontow n, although not the first to occupy the land on which that thriving borou gh stands, he was the first to purchase the land and make settlement. He p urchased the land from Thomas Douthet who "squatted" in 1767, having at fi rst but a "tomahawk" right. The land was surveyed to him in 1769, but he n ever became a permanent settler. Prior to 1774 he sold it to Henry Beeso n, who laid out and surveyed a village site first known as Beesontown, lat er as Uniontown. The site of Henry Beeson 's first log cabin was just sou th of the present courthouse.
(I) The Beesons are first found in this country at Wilmington, Delaware, w here Richard and Edward Beeson settled in 1682. The Beesons of Uniontown d escend from Edward Beeson.
(II) Richard, son of Edward Beeson, married, in 1706, Charity Grubb, and s ettled in the state of Virginia.

I know that when I was doing my research work I found
in the Quaker's vols. That Richard was not married
twice. He was married just once to Charity Grubb.
They was married Oct 24, 1706 in Nottingham Chester
Co. Pa. I got a letter from Don and Patsy Tiffin also so am writing to
them also.
I wanted them to know.if they have question.Write to me.
Richard was born Oct. 16 1684
Edward Beeson father of Richard Beeson was born 1652 in Eng.
His 1st wife was Rachel Pennington b abt 1658
His 2nd wife was Elizabeth Grubb Holmes Beeson Rich
m 1701 to Edward Beeson.
After Edward's death she married Joseph Rich
The children by Rachel was Richard, William, Isaac ,
and Anne. By 2nd wife Elizabeth Grubb Holmes Beeson
they had Elizabeth and Rachel.
I never found out a birthdate for Elizabeth Grubb Holmes
Beeson Rich. This Elizabeth was young enough to have
children by Joseph Rich and they had about 5 children
Come to think of it I do have her birthdate or the year when
she was born but I won't dig it out for now and I am not sure
it is right anyway.
I am also related to Joseph Rich who married Elizabeth
Grubb Holmes Beeson .
I have also Edward's father name and mother name
Thomas Beeson who married Anne ( Pecke??)
THomas born abt. 1634 . that is from the different
internet that I was on to see what I could find out.
Then from this Thomas Beeson's father was William
Beeson born c1600 in Eng.
From William Beeson's father was Edward Beeson b
c1575 in Eng. He was married to Hester Hall who was born
c1575 in Eng.
I got the last three generation from the internet when I was
on it.
I have got to get a different program to get back on it again
and my son is coming up soon I hope to put it on for me.
I have all of the children of Richard and Charity Beeson and
Edward and Rachel names but not all of the dates as of yet.
Thank you again for all the information.
JESUS IS LORD
Thanks
