Alma Stafford Gray, 103, went home to be with her Lord March 25, 2010.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Monday, March 29, 2010 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel in Kernersville with Pastor Rev. Sam White and Rev. Phil Kirkman officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Effie Smith and Flava Cornelius Stafford. She worked as a secretary for the North Carolina Grange for a number of years. She was a longtime member of Shady Grove Wesleyan Church.
She was the wife of the late Jesse Howard Gray. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Rebecca Jane Gray, an infant son Stafford Levi Gray, sisters Dorothy Nelson, Naomi Mooney, and Rosalee Smith, and brothers Athel, Fairsee, and Colin Stafford.
Survivors include her daughter JoAnn Powers of Colfax; son H. Stafford Gray and Margaret of Oak Ridge; sisters Grace Tilley of Kernersville, and Maxine Crutchfield of Jamestown; brothers Smith Stafford of Reidsville, and Richard Stafford of High Point; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4-6PM Sunday afternoon at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville.
