 COLFAX - Mr. Chester Glenn Idol, 81, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Wake Fo rst University Baptist Medical Center.
 Mr. Idol was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Guilford County, a son of the late Che ster L. and Leva Stafford Idol.
 
 He was a member of Kernersville Moravian Church and the Men's Bible Clas s. He owned Farmer's Hardware in Kernersville and Southside Hardware in Hi gh Point.  He was a U.S. Army/Air Force World War II veteran who served wi th the 26th Air Depot Squadron, serve in the China/Burma Theater and w as a lifetime member of the VFW Joyner Post #5352.
 
 Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee Cantrell Idol of the home; three sons a nd their wives, Jeff and Pamela E. Idol, Kenneth and Beth Idol, all of Col fax and Mark and Betsy F. Idol of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Garla nd S. Idol of Kernersville and Charles H. Idol of High Point; and six gran dchildren.
 
 A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at Kernersvi lle Moravian Church by the Rev. Don Winters.  Burial will follow in the Bu nker Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. toda y, Jan. 5, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home. Memorials may be direct ed to the Kernersville Moravian Church Youth Ministry, 504 S.
