  KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Stafford Southard, 81, died Sunday, March 23, 200 3, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Southard was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Forsyth County, a daughter of t he late Harvey and Faye Kirkman Stafford. She was a Kernersville High School graduate and worked at Farmer's Hardwa re for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Southard, and a bro ther, Dennis Stafford. Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Southard of Kernersville and Jerry Southa rd of Pilot Mountain; a brother, Dewey Stafford, of Kernersville; a siste r, Louise Frye, of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Bonnie Southard of Ch arlotte and Pam Williams of Kernersville; three great-grandchildren; and s pecial friends Mike and Debbie Register and Albert and Nora Johnson, a ll of Kernersville. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at H ayworth-Miller-Cain Chapel by the Rev. Tim Wolf. Burial will follow at Bun ker Hill Cemetery.
