HIGH POINT - Sarah King Stafford, long time resident of Jamestown, 86, beloved mother, grandmother "Me-Maw", and great grandmother, passed through the gates of Heaven on March 5, 2012.
The family will hold a private grave side service at Guilford Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Followed by a Memorial Service at Jamestown United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Immediately following the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., the family welcomes friends to visit and reminisce.
Sarah was born to parents W. C. King and wife Ava Jordan King on October 27, 1925 in High Point, NC. She attended High Point College (now High Point University) where she graduated with honors receiving a BS degree in Home Economics. Sarah was employed as an Assistant Director for the Dairy Association of High Point and Greensboro, NC. She met Edward "Bow" Stafford and married July 24, 1949. Sarah is a former Town of Jamestown Council Member, former member of the Jamestown Garden Club and member of the Austin Fortney Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, a brother and a sister, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bow Stafford in 1997.
She is survived by her sons; Edward B. Stafford, Jr. And wife Denise, Jamestown, NC; Samuel C. Stafford and wife Mitzi, Nashville, TN; and daughter Martha Stafford Wolfe, Jamestown, NC. Grandchildren: Shane Stafford, Laguna Niguel, CA; Aaron, Jessica and Kelsey Stafford, Jamestown, NC; Allie and Jacob Stafford, Nashville, TN; Gray Wolfe, Jamestown, NC. Great-grandchildren; Sarah Stafford, Magnolia, NC; Aubrey & Emily Stafford, Laguna Niguel, CA.
