MRS. ANNIE GRIFFIN DIES IN WARSAW ON THURSDAY
Mrs. Annie Griffin died at her home in Warsaw last Thurday no on, December 6, 1945,
at the age of 73 years and 25 days.
She was born in Marcelline November 12, 1872, and was the dau ghter of Elisha and
Mary Ann Stafford. She resided in Warsaw for the past 34 yea rs.
Her first marriage was a Norman Finton, in the vicinity of Ti oga, in 1899. To
this union were born two sons, Elisha E., who died in the ser vice of his country
in October, 1918, and Archie Finton of Warsaw. Mr. Finton di ed at a very early age,
and she was later married to William Griffin of Marcelline, w ho preceded her in
death October 9, 1933.
To this union was born one son, Wilbur Griffin, of Warsaw.
Surviving besides her two sons are three sisters, Mrs. Fann ie Roth of Warsaw, Mrs.
Bertha Grimmer of Quincy, and Mrs. Myrte Kuyokut of Molin e. Three sisters and two
brothers preceded her in death, namely Mrs. Aerabelle (sic) F inton of Marcelline,
Mrs. Susan Winn of Duluth, Minn., Mrs Olive Powers of Adria n, Mich., Robert
Stafford of Quincy and Ward Stafford of Warsaw.
She was a member of the Chrisian Church until she moved to Wa rsaw. Then she became
a member of the Pentecostal Church. She attended church regu larly until the time
of her last illness.
She has 22 grandchildren, among the Almon Finton who serv ed in the pacific theater
throughout the entire war, and Elisha and Elijah Griffin w ho are in the occupation
in Europe.
Rev. Elmer Varner conducted the funeral services which were h eld at the Jingst
Funeral Home Sunday.
Burial was at Marcelline.

WARSAW, Ill., Dec 7.--Mrs Annie Griffin died at her home he re at noon yesterday at
the age of 73 years.
Born in Marcelline, Ill., on November 12, 1872, she was the d aughter of Mary and
Elijah (sic) Stafford and has lived in Warsaw for the la st 34 years.
Her first marriage was to Truman (sic) Finton in 1889 and s he later married William
Griffin in 1899.
She was a member of the Pentacostal Church.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Archie Finton a nd Wilbur Griffin of
Waraw; and three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Roth of Warsaw, Mrs. Be trtha (sic) Grummer (sic)
of Quincy and Mrs. Myrtle Kuyokaut (sic) of Moline, Ill. T wo sons and two brothers
preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held in the Jingst Funeral Home Sund ay afternoon at 2 o'clock
with the Rev. Elmer Varner officiating. Burial will be ma de in Marcelline.
