Goldie Louise Johnson was known to all as Louise. She was a beautiful, vi brant and outgoing young woman with an infectious laugh and wonderful sen se of fun and humor. An interesting thing for the Frankenberry fami ly is that Goldie Louise Johnson and Evelyn Ruth Johnson Frankenberry we re double first cousins, once removed, since Ada (Evelyn's mother) and Ma da (Louise's grandmother) were twin sisters who married brothers (Evelyn 's father and Louise's grandfather). Because Louise ended up marrying Rob ert Earl Frankenberry, brother of Merrill Clyde Frankenberry (Evelyn Johns on's husband), Louise also became Evelyn's sister-in-law. For me, as Evel yn's and Merrill's son, Louise was my dear Aunt Louise, but she was, thro ugh my Johnson mother, my second cousin. Bob and Louise's daughter, Winki e, was my first cousin AND my second cousin once-removed. Winkie was t he niece of Evelyn Johnson Frankenberry, as well as her first cousin twi ce removed.
I had a special attachment to Uncle Bob and Aunt Louise, and started, at t he age of nine (the summer their daughter, Winifred was born), staying wi th them for a week or so every summer for about three years. Uncle Bob w as a wonderful example to follow, and was extremely encouragi ng to me in my childhood music studies. It was always fun just being wi th Aunt Louise and her always cheerful attitude.
