A Joseph Troy Liston completed Draft Registration on 6 June 1917, Registra tion Card #133. His birth date was 16 June 1886. At registration time, h is address was R.F.D.4, Morgantown, WV. His age was 30. He was born in K ingwood, WV, and he was a carpenter. He was married, and supporting a wi fe and two children. He was tall, slender, had blue eyes and brown hai r. The registrar was John A. Dille, and the registration was complet ed in Precinct 26, Monongalia County, WV. On the right side of the regist ration is a penned note:

This is obviously the same Joseph Liston as in the Draft Registration in W est Virginia. While there is no concrete proof from these two informati on pieces, it seems likely that this is Joseph T. Liston, husband of Jos ie Q. Johnson, and it is being recorded as such. Evelyn Johnson Frankenber ry has said that Joseph and Josie Johnson Liston moved around quite a bi t. She also recalls that, at some point after 1930, they moved to Califor nia, and her recollection is that they moved to Lake Elsinore, CA. This a lso fits well with other information: Josie died in Chula Vista, was buri ed in Parris, CA. There is no Parris, CA, but there is a Perris, CA, a nd it is near Riverside (where Joseph died) and Lake Elsinore. Further ef fort will be made to verify this.
