H. Earl Stafford
Hayward Earl Stafford, 80, of Barrington, N.H., died March 25, 2005, at t he Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a period of failing health.
Earl was born on June 8, 1924, in Richwood, W.Va., the son of Oakley and M innie (Gibson) Stafford. He worked as a supervisor for the Johns Manvil le Co. then became a lumber manager for Rickles in New Jersey until his re tirement in 1989. While living in New Jersey, he and his wife were membe rs of Laurel Springs Church and then members of the Berlin Baptist Churc h.
Earl and his family moved to Barrington in 1992. He enjoyed woodworking, h ooking rugs, fishing, and his cat, Henry. He got the most out of life wh en family and friends would come over and visit.
Family members include his wife, Zelda A. (Holpp) Stafford; two daughter s; Beverly Haas and her husband, Warren, of Barrington and Sharon Bech er of Berlin, N.J.; two granddaughters, Lisa Becher of Berlin, N.J., and J ennifer Pearson and her husband, Joe, of Chicago, Ill.; and nieces, nephe ws and sisters-in-laws.
He was predeceased by his sister, Edith Burrows of Akron, Ohio; and by h is son-in-law, Armin Becher.
Family and friends are invited to an open house reception starting at 10 a .m. on April 2 at Earl's house, 466 Route 202, Barrington.
