  From his father Thomas Henry Rives will: 3rd. I give and bequeath unto my son John Rives in addition to the Land be fore given him one negro Man named Adam to him and his Heirs forever previ ously delivered unto my said son John Rives. John Rives is thought to have been married 2 times. Who is wife # 1? Cou ld the following have anything related...since John married Nancy Broo ks in 1811 in Chatham Co., NC REAVES 18 Dec 2001 Edgar Taylor [email protected]. 1070 Old Gate Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235-2741 Seley Reaves made a will in Chatham Co. on March 26, 1805 which was probat ed in November. She signed it as Seley Reaves. In the will she only nam es her brother Labin Smart. The LDS web site indicates a Labin Smart in Fr ankiln Co., NC. Witnesses to her will were Thomas Bell, Ulsey Smart, Pol ly Boon. Apparently she was the wife of one of the Rives family but I ha ve not been able to ascertain who.
