Sometime before 1811 he moved to Stokes Co., NC ,where he married Mary (Po lly) Westmoreland.
Barzilla and Mary are buried in the Carmichael family cemetery off Stanley ville Dr., two miles from Germanton. Barzilla m. his second wife wh en he was 67. She was 20 at the time. Minerva is buried in the Hickory R idge Methodist Church Cem., near Winston-Salem.
