  Daniel was the son of Daniel Pegram and wife Sarah. He was the grands on of George Pegram and wife of Unknown HUNT. It has also been reported t hat his mother was also a HUNT, but to date there is no documented evidenc e. The proof that his grandmother was a HUNT comes from the apprenticesh ip papers of his uncle, George Pegram in 1702/03 which states that he w as apprenticed with the consent of his uncle, Robert HUNT. After Daniel and Frances were married, their first child Sarah was bo rn 25 Dec 1741. It apprears that this daughter died young because they th en named another daughter Sarah that was born about 1761. Daniel and Frances arrived in Granville Co., NC sometime before 1754 wh en he is shown to be a member of the Granville Co., NC militia. In 17 58 he obtained a land grant from Lord Granville for 733 acres of land desc ribed as being on both sides of Hubbquarter Creek. All of Daniel's children are named in his Will dated 15 November 1776 a nd recorded in Will Book A, Page 170 in Warren Co., NC.
