Rootsweb post of December 22, 1999 (Lasley Geneology Forum)....what we ha ve so far is sketchy...James Lasley arrived in Virginia in 1721 from Swans ea, Glamorgan, Wales. He was indentured to a John Dykes for several year s, became a teacher in Fredericksburg, and later bought land in Louisa Cou nty. He married Mary Merriwether and had 2 sons that we know of - John a nd Manoah. The rest you may already know.
James father was also Manoah, supposedly a school teacher...but that's a ll we have and would love to find more of James lines and how, if at al l, they connect to Clan Leslie. (a fact my father insists is so) (post ed by Pat Kay)
