" At Kernersville, Forsyth county, Tuesday afternoon, Ade Walker shot a nd killed Eugene Lamar, a married man about 35 years old. The two men we re in the blacksmith shop of Granville Manuels, near the Southern Railw ay depot, where the killing occurred. Walker was found an hour later at h is home half a mile away and was arrested. He told the officers that he h ad decided to return and surrender to the authorities.
The men had been drinking and playing cards. Walker wanted to play aga in and Lamar objected on the ground that Walker was too drunk and was fus sy when drinking. From these remarks the shooting began which ended in La mar's death.
Walker is a bad man. Prior to this he had killed two men and had assaul ted others. He is in jail."
