KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Sue Hutchens Mickey, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 200 4, at her home. Mrs. Mickey was born in Patrick County, Va., a daught er of the late L.R. and Pearl Nelson Hutchens.
A loving wife and mother, Sue was a wonderful, loving and caring person, a nd her grandchildren were her pride and joy. All those who knew and lov ed her will miss her. She was an active member of the Kernersville First B aptist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Morning Glory Gar den Club and a volunteer at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two nephews, Terry Hutchens a nd James Max Hutchens Jr.; a sister-in-law, Golda Flowers; and a brother-i n-law, Grayson Mickey. Surviving are her husband, Richard A. Mickey of t he home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Bruce Spear of Kernersvill e; a son, Randy Mickey and his friend, Donna Richel of Rockingham; four gr andchildren, Cha, Candice and R.C. Mickey of Rockingham and Sarah Spe ar of Kernersville; a sister, Trilba Strader and her husband, Lane of Gree nsboro; two brothers, C.L. Hutchens and his wife, Ann of Lewisville and M ax Hutchens of Kernerville; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Turner of St. Peter sburg, Fla., and Sylvia Richardson of Tampa, Fla.; six nieces; and five ne phews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 22, at the Fir st Baptist Church, by Dr. Steven Martin and Charles Stevens. The family wi ll receive friends immediately following the service. A committal servi ce will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in the Bunker Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all her fri ends who have been so caring throughout the years. Memorials may be direct ed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 2726 2. Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home is assisting the Mickey family.
