• Notes

  John Henry married his first cousin, Theades M. Stafford in 1887 but records state that son William Jasper was born in May 1885. His wife died of a "fever" and it is said that he died shortly after. Another source has Marcie Pruett as his wife who abandoned the three children in St. Joseph, Missouri. It's possible, she was a second wife. A family by the name of Ince took the children in. Will and Charley migrated with the Ince family to Hill Co., Texas.
