  Loving Father and Grandfather, Lindsay Jackson Stafford, age 84, of Conover passed away after many years of declining health on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born September 10, 1927 in Alexander County, he was the son of the late Perry and Lottie Fox Stafford. He was member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover and was employed for 27 years as a teacher in Catawba and Gaston Counties and more than 15 years at Rock Barn Country Club. Mr. Stafford was a US Navy, WII veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Blanche Stafford and Belle Teague, 3 brothers, Glenn, Roy and Don Stafford. He is survived by: Wife of 62 years: Betty Jean Rockett Stafford of the home; 3 Daughters: Linda Summey and husband John of Raleigh Beckie Perkins and husband Jay of Concord Susan Abernathy and husband Gary of Claremont; 2 Sisters: Toy Smith and Sarah Seitz, both of Hickory; 2 Brothers: Mack Stafford of Hickory, Wade Stafford of Gastonia; 7 Grandsons: Michael, David, Christopher, Benjamin, Jeremy, Jonathan and Scott; 2 Great Grandsons: Cole and Colin; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.
