RITES SUNDAY FOR CITY MAN
Frank Stafford Victim Of Heart Attack WAS WELL KNOWN Frank Stafford, son of the late George and Molly Stafford, born November 29, 1893 died Friday, July 5, 1945, at his home in Paintsville following a heart attack. Born at Staffordsville he was well known throughout Johnson and Lawrence Counties. Mr. Stafford operated the first meat market established in Paintsville and later went into the restaurant business. At the time of his death he was employed at Robinson's Restaurant. He had been a resident of Paintsville the last 26 years. He is survived by his wife Bertha Collins Stafford, three children, Pvt. Gladys S. Castle, Mrs. J. M. Cyrus, Prestonsburg, and Frank Stafford, Jr., city, one granddaughter, Joy M. Cyrus; one brother, Ballard of Mt. Sterling, four half-brothers, Sud, Proctor, Carl of Paintsville and W.M. Stafford of Cynthiana, O., three half sisters, Mrs. Ida Melvin Salyer, Mrs. Anna Ward and Mrs. Mae Phelphrey all of Paintsville. Funeral services were conducted at the residence by the undertaking department of the Paintsville Furniture Co., Sunday evening, July 8, the Reverend Geo. W. Townsend of Russell, Ky., the former pastor of the First Methodist Church here, officiating. Burial, made in the Melvin graveyard at Staffordsville, was delayed until Monday awaiting the arrival of Cpl. Gladys S. Castle who came from her station in California.
