Mrs.Bertha Stafford, 63, well known local resident, died at her home in Margaret Heights at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, August 29, after an illness of several months.
The daughter of Bud and Lydia Davidson Collins, she was born May 19, 1900, in this county and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge and Daughters of America.
Her husband,Frank Stafford preceded her in death in 1945.
Survivors include a son, Frank Stafford, Jr., of this city; two daughters, Mrs.J.M.Cyrus, Jacksonville, Fla.; Mrs.Orville Castle of this city; a brother, John Crate Collins, Big Prairie,Ohio; two sisters, Mrs.Lula Carter, Corbin; Mrs.Visa Coleman,Dayton, Ohio.
Also surviving are five granddaughters, one grandson, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday at the First Christian Church with the pastor Rev.Charles Saunders, and the Rev.Robert Hart officiating.Burial was in the Melvin Cemetery at Staffordsville.
