  Uriah lived in Jackson Co., TN and moved to Hardeman Co.. In 1833 the family moved to Tippah Co., MS where they remained until about 1845-46 when they migrated to Texas. Elizabeth reported that Uriah died either 10 or 20 Aug 1846 when she appeared before the Honorable George W. Tuggle of the probate court, asking to be appointed administrix which was done in the May 1847 term of the court, with William Wooverton, William Givens , Hansford Hanks and Christopher Fitzgerald being appointed as appraisers of the estate. Their report in the June term of the court showed no land was owned by Urian Stafford, only personal effects. A Uriah Stafford appears in the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 Census for Jackson Co., TN as being born about the same year as this Uriah in NC. It is likely that Uriah left Elizabeth and went back to Jackson TN. More proof is needed. Census: Listed as Uriah Stafford with wife Martha and children Abbe, Mathew and William Heady. Listed as Uriah Stafford with wife Martha and children James M., William and Abragal Hetty. District 9. Listed as Uriah Stafford, a farmer with wife Martha and son Sydney. District 9. Listed with wife Martha and cousins Nancy Scott age 19 b. TN, Eliza Heady age 13 b. TN and Daniel L. Heady age 11 b. TN. Parents born in NC.
