  Mike I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you. I appreciate the generosity of your time. I am a little perplexed by your reply. From all other accounts that I have been able to find Lucy Elvira Stafford, daughter of Byrd Lewis Stafford, show that she was born December 15, 1828 in Hardeman Co. TN. and died in September about 1841 or 42 in Dallas Co, MO. I also show that she was married to someone other than John Fletcher Norton (can't seem to come up with the name at present). My Lucy Elvira Stafford was born 6-18-1822 in Humphreys County TN and died in 1878 Erin Springs Oklahoma. The fact that Lucy and John Norton had a son named Louis Byrd makes me think that she could be the same Lucy that was born 12-15-1828 (or at least closely related) and one of the dates could be wrong. What I can't get passed is the death dates and the fact that she was married to someone else. Unless that is she ran off with John Norton and her 1st husband said she died at that time. John Norton was in Missouri and maybe thats what happened? If you have any ideas on the subject I would appreciate your view.
