  L.J. Stafford operated Stafford's Grocery at 2801 Louisa St, i n Catlettsburg for 27 years. He was also a member of the Catlettsburg City Council. Born in Johnson Co., KY., he was a son of William H. & Elizabeth Davis Stafford. He moved to Catlettsburg from Staffordsville in 1912. Surviving him are his widow, Florence Ratliff Stafford, four sons, William Arthur Stafford, Charles Edwin Stafford, George Cecil Stafford, Paul Raymond Stafford, a daughter- Dorothy Lee Stafford Curnutte (Perry), a sister-Mrs. Owen Childers, eight grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a "special granddaughter",Sherry, his pride & joy.Funeral services to be conducted tomorrow @ Calvary Episcopal Church in Ashland, Ky. by Father Frances Cooper, Pastor. Burial to follow in Catlettdburg Cemetery.
