Last Will & Testament of William Stafford, 1750 In the name of God amen I William Stafford of the County of Pasquotank and the Province of North Carolina being very sick and weak of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be therefore given unto Almighty God for the same do make and ordain that my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter names and as touching such temporall estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose in manner following I will that all those I owe debts be truly paid and satisfied in some Covenant time after my death. Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Stafford that part of my land that I now live on to him and his heirs to the line that James Ware and Joshua Barishoe run between them. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Stafford all of my land from that line up Turkey Branch to him and his heirs. Imprimis: I leave my loving wife Elender Stafford one third of my land to be an equal part taken out of each childs land, and if she marries of for each child to have his share of land again without any molestation or disturbance. Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Stafford one young Cow and the female increase. Item: I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Stafford one three year old heifer and all the female increase. Item: I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Stafford one three year old heifer and all the female increase.
