BERTHA DUMMITT
(1923-1996)
Bertha June Dummitt, 72, of Vanceburg, Ky., died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, at home.
Born April 28, 1923, in Camp Dix, Ky., a daughter of the late James Stafford and Viola Vergne Stafford, she was a retired pharmaceutical clerk for Pharmaceutical Distribution Center.
Preceded in death by her first husband, George Dummitt, in 1983, she is survived by her husband, Ancil. A. Applegate; a son, David Dummitt of Morris, Ill.; a daughter, Paula Fraley of Camp Dix; two brothers, Ralph "Buck" Stafford of Vanceburg and William Stafford of Morris; five sisters, Opal Johnson of Westerfield, Louise Rose and Virginia Sword, both of Arrowsmith, Ill., and Evelyn Dummitt and Lena Fannin, both of Morris; and three grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dummitt, and a brother, Woodrow Stafford.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at U.C. Davis and Sons Limited Funeral Home in Morris, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery at Morris. Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and at U.C. Davis in Morris from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
