Resident of Westerville, OH. She was born in Camp Dix, KY, the seventh child of nine children born to James and Viola Vergne Stafford. She was a graduate of Laurel High School in 1944, graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing affiliated with St. Francis College in Joliet, IL in 1948 and was a registered nurse. After graduation she worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, IL for five years, where she met and married her husband Richard H Johnson Jr., in 1949. After raising their children, she returned to nursing and worked at Harding, a private psychiatric hospital in Worthington for ten years. She was a member of St. Paul Parish in Westerville, OH since 1961 and active in many functions and charities including St. John/Holy Rosary soup kitchen. She also volunteered for 25 years for Birthright of Columbus and served on the Board of Trustees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H Johnson Jr.; infant daughter, Mary Victoria; son, Richard H Johnson III; daughter-in-law, Natalia Stone Johnson; and daughter, Kathryn Hightower; three brothers, Woodrow, William and Ralph Stafford; sisters, Lena Fannin, Evelyn Dummitt, Bertha Dummitt Applegate, and Virginia Sowards. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kim Wilson Johnson, mother of grandchildren, Richard IV and Alexander; children, Suzanne Johnson, Paul (Any Hawk) Johnson, and Georgia (Michael) Mahaffey; and eight other grandchildren, Rachael and Ashley Hightower, Erica (Sean) Brislin, Amy (Jason) Cooper, Emily Johnson, Jessica Mahaffey, Monica (Matthew) Stewart, Megan (Eric) Finley; great grandchildren, James, Georgia Grace, Madeline, Brooklyn, Aiden, Claire and Conor, Ilsa, Lukas, Catie, Cutter, and Scarlett; and sister, Louise Rose of Arrowsmith, IL.
