- JAN DRAHOS' birth is recorded in the records of Prosec (Protestant) #1714 for years 1754 - 1803. Prosec, a larger village, is located about two miles NE of Ceska Rybna and about ten miles NW of Policka (pronounced Po-leech-ka). He was a veteran of the 3rd Imperial and Royal Artillery Regiment,
Austro-Hungarian Army
JAN, whose middle name, KRTITEL, means "John the Baptist", married twice. His first wife, was ANNA SKALA, daughter of JAN SKALA and ANNA HRNCAL. They were married on May 2, 1854. ANNA SKALA apparently died shortly after her marriage to JAN DRAHOS who later married KATERINA VACEK. ANNA SKALA's brother, FRANZ, apparently remained a close friend of JAN DRAHOS and served as a godparent to JAN's and KATERINA's daughter, ANNA.
Jan's marriage to Katherina Vackova is recorded in the records of Borova (Protestant) for years 1841-1881 (Vol. R 102). Borova is located about six miles SE of Ceska Rybna and about five miles west of Policka.
