- JOSEF's marriage to BARBORA on March 4, 1832 is recorded in the Vital Registers of the Parish of Nemecke [Snezne], page 58, Inv. No. M 16.773/1818 - 1849, Moravian Provincial Archives [marriages] in Brno, Czech Republic. Their witness was Frantisek Topinka, the brother of BARBORA. At the time of their marriage, BARBORA was living in Odranec, house # 10. Both JOSEF and BARBORA were Protestants and were listed as being single (he, age 29 1/2; she, age 28) at the time of their marriage.
JOSEF, Sr. who lived in Odranec, house # 6, when he married BARBORA (whose maiden name also was TOPINKA and who also lived in Odranec, house #10, before their marriage) were more distantly related than second cousins. Their family lines, which appear to have parted circa 1750, were rejoined by their marriage in 1832. Odranec is located in the Protestant parish of Nemecke, later changed to Snezne. When their sons, IGNATZ and JOSEF, Jr., were born, JOSEF and BARBORA were living in Odranec, house # 10 -- which, apparently, was BARBORA's childhood home.
