- John's Will, probated Aug., 1810 in Rowan County, left to his wife, Rebeckah, all his household and kitchen furniture, one sorrel mare, two cows and calves, all his hogs and sheep, a plow and gears, farming tools, bacon, wheat, corn, fodder, wheat that is growing and one bee hive. He also left his plantation to the use of his wife and children --and if she should remarry, he left her an equal part of all that is mentioned of his personal estate with his land to be equally divided between his two sons, William and George when the come of age. The rest of his estate not mentioned in his will he left to pay his just debts and to school his children with anything left to be equally divided between them. He appointed his friend Azariah Pack and his wife Rebeckah as his executors. The will was witnessed by John Stinchcomb.
John's will does not mention any other children.
