  Bernice Susan Ellsworth had a strong spirit, so God chose her to gift with polo at the age of 2. She was a bright light and determined to live a full life. Horace Ellsworth was the one true love of her life. Bernice's parents gave a plot of land to the newlyweds and Horace along side his new father in law built a home. It was custom made for Bernice, allowing her to reach the counters and sinks in a functional manner. Together Bernice and Horace gave birth to one child, a daughter named Beverly. Beverly was brought up to appreciate music and baton twirling. Beverly eventually had 3 children. I remember my Grandmother for her loving compassion and understanding. She held my hand through hard times, sharing her strength. She was known for her apple pies, and she shared her secrets with me. I now carry the flame for the apple pie making.
