She was a tailoress, had 6 brothers and 2 sisters, limited education, and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She was 5' 2" tall, weighed 140 pounds, had a medium build, light complexion, brown hair and gray eyes at the time of her marriage in 1846 to Calvin S. Dorwin. She died at age 51. After Calvin S. Dorwin died, she had two other husbands: James Spencer whom she married June 26, 1859 in Decatur, IN and Alfred Hill whom she married September 25, 1864 in Decatur, IN.
