  Notes	Bennie was the son of Charles Alexander Stafford and Sallie Stovall Stafford of Mississippi. He married Sarah Delores "Lora" Penn about 1899 in Texas, either near Cedar Hill or in Silverton. They had two children, Charles Alexander Stafford and Aletha Mae Stafford Tune. Their mother "Lora" died March 27, 1904 and these two little ones lived with their grandparents John Wesley Penn and Beatrice Ann Trees Penn, until 1913. At that time they joined their father in Dallas County, near Cedar Hill. Bennie never remarried. Benjamin James Stafford's ancestors were Neill Stafford from Kintyre, Argyll, Scotland and his wife Rosanna McNeill from Marion County, South Carolina. "Granddaddy Ben" was a gentle soul, with blue eyes, and flaming red hair. He is affectionately remembered by his family. May you rest in peace, Gloria

She and her parents and other siblings came to Texas sometime between 1880-1881 when she was just a baby. Ophelia married Robert Lee Whatley August 30, 1896 in De Soto, Dallas County, Texas. They were the parents of the following children: Walter Lee, Jessie James, Fred William, Elmer T., Odie Ernest, Marvin Rene, Edgar T., Mary Stella, Charlie, Effie, and Lorine R. Whatley. She was much loved by her niece Aletha Stafford Tune.
