Hello Gloria,
I hope I do not disappoint. This picture is of my grandfather HenryBentley, "Bent" Rawdon and Naoma Catherine Penn, who is Lora's sisterjust younger than her. The only notation on the back is Lora Penn whowould be on the left, then Papa is in the middle and Naoma or Oma as shewent by is on the right. I am the daughter of their son, Lloyd BentleyRawdon born 1918. As you see, I was named after him as was common in thesouth. I see you live in CA. I married David Fairchild from Idaho andcurrently live in Idaho. I also have a Penn family photo taken I think inearly 1900's, I could be wrong on the date, if you are interested andfamily photo of Bent and Oma's family. The one's I knew the most wereUncle Jewell and Aunt Rosie. I have a few family memories of them I canshare. Let me know if this is her. Would be happy to share.
Until I hear!!

Gloria,
I am going to bed. Am sending this family picture of the Penn's. Naoma issecond from right top row. I don't have the written Aunt Rosie Story. There may be some Cherokee, But not documented that I know. MostlyGerman. I will answer more tomorrow. Do you have the old brochure fromthe Penn farm, If not, I do. The picture of Lora, Oma and Bent wasprobably taken around 1897-1899. Around the time Bent and Oma weremarried. Most of my documentation is in my head. Grandmother told me oneday at 14, "I did my chores, walked to the end of the lane, met PaPa andwent to get married and "I got out of the frying pan into the fire."

Gloria, Good morning,
First of all, do you have a copy of William Anderson Penn's Last Will andTestament? I do. Just let me know. I also need a favor. Can you send me abetter picture of your parents and brother, or was it your grandparent'sand dad, "Help" I believe when he was small? The one you sent was so bigI could not get it to print. I hope I am not bothering you too much butyour posts have meant a lot to me. People our age were too young toremember and the ones we need to ask are gone. By the way enjoy thatlittle girl while you can, boy do they grow up fast!!
I am attaching an old photo of My Aunt Edith and me about 1954, taken atone of those sidewalk stands. I looked a lot like her but got my mother'sHazel eyes. My parents divorced when I was in first grade, then motherand Dwaine and I moved to Godley, Johnson, Texas to live with her motherLydia Belle Bandy Hall. My sister Glenda, only lived a year, I spent alot of time
with Aunt Edith when we lived in Mansfield and any time I needed her shewas there. I wanted to tell you how she could play the piano. Herparent's Oma and Bent had moved into town by the time I was born andopened an Old Folks Home. The kids tore out the old kitchen and built ahuge one on. Oma had a huge Oak table where the Old folks ate first, thenthe men, then the children if lots of us were there. Then we would gatherin the front room and sing. Aunt Edith could play any thing by ear. Mydaddy played the guitar and his brother George could sing and especiallywhistle like an angel. As with many people in the old days they did nothave the money to run around much so they entertained theirselves.Grandmother had a big old upright in the front room, Edith would play, mymother sang in her small quiet voice, we smaller kids would play on thefloor. Grandmother especially loved, "Will the Circle be Unbroken". Thissong is also the one that would ring a bell in the minds of the Old onesand they would clap and sing and the floor and walls of the old housewould move and shake with all of us. Oh my, those were the times.
With all the rules and regulations now, you could not do this, but theymade their living, lived their lives, and the Old ones never got bettercare. It was a sad emotional day after Grandmother died and they had tofind other places to live. They kept it going for a while because Frankieand her second husband Ernest lived there and helped her.
By the way, my parents remarried when I was junior in Highschool. That'sa story for another day!
Later, Cousin Lloyd Ann
