Hackney (III) Aaron Hackney , son of Joseph , came to what is now Luzernetownship, Fayette county, Pennsylvania , just after the French and Indianwar, took up his land claim, and built his log cabin. He then returned toVirginia for his family, and returned with them to his home in thewilderness about 1758 , and thereafter lived on his Fayette county farm,containing three hundred twenty-one acres. He was a member of the Societyof Friends, or Quakers, and an industrious and prosperous farmer. He wasmarried to Hannah Gregg (second wife; no children by first wife), adaughter of George and Elizabeth Gregg , who was born April 20, 1744 .Aaron and Hannah (Gregg) Hackney had eight children, of whom John was theseventh.
