- Henry Chickering, Yoeman, born probably about 1560, lived in th e parish of Bramfield, C. SDuffolk England, from 1588 to 1595 o r perhaps for a longer period and is found in the parish of Ring sfield in the same county on July 11, 1626 when he made his wil l which was proved July 7 1627. He married Mary who was living o n July 11 1626. As the extant parish registers of Ringsfield d o not begin until 1751 we can derive no information from them re lating to his immediate family.
The will of Henry Chickering of Ringesfield in County Suffolk, y eoman, July 11, 1626. To wife Mary L5, she to have maintenanc e for one year. To son John Chickering, L5. To daughter Judith , now wife of Robert Webster of London, L10. To son Symon afte r the death of wife Mary, the freehold late purchased in Thoring ton in Suffolk known by the name of Swayles, containing ten acre s more or less. If son Symon die unmarried the executors to sel l the said land, the sum received to be equally divided amongs t m children, excepting son Henry. To son Reynold 20 s., if h e give an acquittance of all demands. To son in law Nicholas Wol nough L5. All the rest of goods, cattles, chattels, etc. debt s being paid, to two sons, John Chickering and Francis Chickerin g, son Henry to be supervisor: and executors shall not do augh t herein without the consent of said son Henry. To the poor o f Ringsffeild5s. Witnesss: Robert Cobbe, Francis Austen and Wil liam Harte.
