  Obituary: STAFFORD, John A. - Of Montrose, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. He was 90 years of age. John was born July 19, 1917 in Birch Run, Michigan to the late Clinton and Kathryn (Tackabury) Stafford. He had resided in the Vienna Township area his entire life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. John married Viola White on November 29, 1945 in California. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing and was a member of the Local UAW 659. He loved to hunt. Surviving are: beloved wife of 62 years, Viola; children, John Jr. of Montrose, Helen of Montrose and Richard of DeWitt; 3 granddaughters, Christina (Joseph), Angela (Erik) and Andrea (Scott); 5 great-grand-children, Brandon, Matthew, Kayla, Alyssa and Kaylee; several nieces and nephews. John was also preceded in death by his brothers, Warren and Clinton Jr. and infant brothers, Grover and James; sisters, Theda Daly and Bernice Hutchinson. Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, March 31, 2008 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial will be at Birch Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
