  Noah and his wife came to Cook's Settlement, Cape Giradeau in 1807 where Sarah's parents had settled several years previously. Further proof is needed to prove they are the parents of all the children listed. Hello Mike, I am looking for info on Rebekah Stafford. She is listed on the 1800 census in Rutherford County, NC. Noah Stafford (branch 20) could be related to her. She has a son the same as Noah's age…the only Stafford in the area that has no info that I can find. I also have a letter written in 1930 to my aunt Okel from her aunt Pearl (Stafford) Bass that indicates that Noah's parents were the ones who sailed to America. It reads that they landed in Norfolk, VA. Noah was born in SC in 1782 so they had to be among the last to enter before the war. Some of the later to arrive had to endure scavenging for settlement, many moved around in that period between North and South Carolina as the war was still scattering some folks. There was also a migration in that era from Virginia to “Old Tryon” in the southern part of NC as folks would get off the ship. I think that Noah's parents could have been one these families. Anything you might have to shed light on 'ole Noah will be greatly appreciated. I am still looking for his origins. Many thanks, Robert Stafford Census: 1830.
