  Lived in Osage then moved to Huntsville in 1923. Henry accidently set fire to the house and burned everything in it. With neighbor’s help, started again. Uncle Bud helped him start the first light plant in Huntsville (population 306). Uncle Bud took care of light plant while Alvin put up lines and wired houses. Alvin also worked at a spoke factory plus a jewelry store. Uncle Bud died and Garland was taken out of school to help in the light plant. Later Henry helped. An ice plant was connected to the power plant.
