FANROCK — Inez Florence Stafford Rose, 82, a longtime resident of Fanrock, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at her home.
Inez was born Feb. 28, 1923, at Caples, a daughter of the late Ottoway "Ott" Stafford (1897-1989) and Margaret "Maggie" Lockhart-Stafford (1902-1970).
Mrs. Rose was a homemaker and a member of the former Christian Nation Church of Brier Creek.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burl H. Rose Sr. (1921-1953) whom she married on April 26, 1942 in New Richmond, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, 1942, Page 394, Application Date: April 13, 1942); three brothers, Harry Lester Stafford Sr. (1928-2005), Ernest Stafford (1921-1933) and Johnny Stafford (1910-Deceased); three sisters, Margaret Stafford Jackson, Joann Stafford-Derfield (1931-1988) and Anna Lee Stafford (1925-1926); and two infant grandchildren, Chadwick Rose (Deceased) and Ashley Lester (Deceased).
She is survived by a son, Burl H. Rose Jr. and wife, Anna Mae Rose, of Rockingham, N.C.; four daughters, Delores Rose Kennedy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Margaret Rose Hammitt and husband, Allen, of Fanrock, Connie Rose Lester and husband, Norman "Butch" Lester, of Beckley and Paula Rose Kennedy of St. Clairsville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, Michelle Kennedy Cooper and husband, Ellis, and sons, Matthew, Jaden and Brian, of Murfreesboro, Kelee Kennedy Trubiano and husband, Doug, and daughter, Holly, and son, Noah, of St. Clairsville, Angie Lester Storms and husband, Gregory, and son, Gregory II, of Mullica Hills, N.J., Kenneth Kennedy and wife, Karla, and daughter, Kassie, and son, Kolson, of Murfreesboro, Allen Hammitt Jr. and wife, Tonia, and sons, Gavin and Ethan, of Beckley, Michael Rose and fiancée, Donna Miller of Whispering Pines, N.C., Amy Kennedy Thurman and husband, Michael, and daughter, Ashton, and son, Jacob, of Scott Depot, Brian Lester and wife, Latossha, and daughters, Malaysia and Sahara, and son, Thallon, of Morgantown, Adam Rose of Fanrock and Scott Hammitt of Fanrock; three brothers, Jacob N. "Jake" Stafford and wife, JoAnn, of Oceana, Bob Stafford of Fanrock and Charles Stafford and wife, Judy, of Montville, Ohio; a sister, Vera Potter and husband, Russell, of Helen; many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
