  BLACK MOUNTAIN - Clarence Henry Slagle, 83, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002.  Mr. Slagle lived most of his life in Black Mountain and was the son of the late Edgar and Olive Blankenship Slagle.  He was a disabled US Army veteran of World War II.  He was preceded in death by his son, Keith R. Slagle, and his brothers and sisters, Ruby Moore, C. E., Ernest F., Norman, and Lewis W. Slagle.  The family would like to thank the Staff at the Asheville VA Medical Center for their care of Mr. Slagle through the past years.
