  Mrs. Jane Stafford Has Passed Away Mrs. Jane Stafford died Christmas Day at the home of her son-in-law William Swailes, after an illnes of several months of cancer. Though a great sufferer she bore her affliction with christian fortitude. She was a loving mother, a generous neighbor and a dependable friend and her passing is sincerely mourned by those who knew her best. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon for the M. E. church, the pastor Rev. M. P. Karr, officiating and burial was made in Maple Grove cemetary. Pheobe Jane Yokom was born at Ottercliffe, Canada in 1843. She was married in 1859 to Chauncey Tree, who died in Chattanooga Tenn. in 1864, while in service in the Civil war. Two sons were born to this union. The eldest, Charles, died in 1885. Her daughter Mrs. Wm Swailes, and her only son, Watson Tree, of Detroit, were at her bedside when she passed away. Mrs. George Tenaman of Trenville, Alberta, a neice of the deceased, grew to young womanhood as a member of her family. Brothers and sister of the deceased are: R.A. Yokom of Mayville, Mich., Martin Yokom of Marshall, Mich., Calvin Yokom of Detroit, Mrs Mary Ann Hawke of St. Clair, Mich. and Mrs Sarah Mcdonald of Harrow Ontario.
