| Text | Linda I have my hands on a book on the Staffords. According to its authors Amanda STAFFORD was born 1856. She married Harris A. Smith 3/6/1878, who was born in 1850. Amanda's father was John Stafford born 1829 in Carroll County. Amanda's mother was Martha J. "May" Cox born in 1833. John Stafford's father was William Stafford born 1803 in Virginia. John Stafford's mother was Pheby Ward born 1812 in Virginia. William Stafford's father was Zorobabel Stafford born 1760-1765 in Delaware. William Stafford's mother was Elizabeth Smith born 1790 in North Carolina. They believe Zorababel Stafford was born in Sussex County Delaware. I don't know how correct this info is, it was put together by Jere Cox. You will find me listed in this book also. Roger Capps | |
