| Text | Julie Mildred Stafford was born in Feb. 1873 in Ark. Dau. of James W. Stafford and Malinda Elizabeth. She married Aug. 31, 1893 in Logan Co. Ark. Spartan Lemuel Fisher. She died Dec. 29, 1933 in Monroe, LeFlore , Ok. and is buried at the Vaughn Cemetery in Monroe. You can find her on the1900 census in Poteau Household 323. on the 1910 Poteau Dw. 60/60. 1920 Dw# 207/211. Dowden funeral home before it burned down had confirmed that Julie's father was James Stafford. According to my husbands great grandmother who died in 1997 Julie's mother is buried at Tarby Prairie cemetery which is in Poteau and was plowed under to put main street in Poteau, Ok. My husband father now owns the property. A few graves have been put back up.In 1880 you can find Julie with her parents in Logan co. ark. Pg. 219. My husbands family says Tom , Julies brother was a minister and had a granddaughter who was murdered by a man and put in the attic of his house he was a neighbor to the staffords. | |
