After the war he moved to Minnesota and in 1871 located in New Haven on the farm which has since been his home. In September 1880 he was united in marriage, at Rochester, with Miss Ellen Roderick, of New Haven, who survives him. Mr. Stafford was a familiar figure in this vicinity for many years, genial and large hearted, he held a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him. For many years he has been a member of Jo Mower Post, G. A. R. of this place, whose members will lose, in his death, a true comrade and his associates a steadfast friend. He was one of seven children, all of whom, except one, Alice, survive him. His aged father also survives to mourn his loss. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in this village Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the interment was made in Pine Island cemetery. After the war he moved to Minnesota and in 1871 located in New Haven on the farm which has since been his home. In September 1880 he was united in marriage, at Rochester, with Miss Ellen Roderick, of New Haven, who survives him. Mr. Stafford was a familiar figure in this vicinity for many years, genial and large hearted, he held a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him. For many years he has been a member of Jo Mower Post, G. A. R. of this place, whose members will lose, in his death, a true comrade and his associates a steadfast friend. He was one of seven children, all of whom, except one, Alice, survive him. His aged father also survives to mourn his loss. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in this village Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the interment was made in Pine Island cemetery. After the war he moved to Minnesota and in 1871 located in New Haven on the farm which has since been his home. Mr. Stafford was a familiar figure in this vicinity for many years, genial and large hearted, he held a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him. After the war he moved to Minnesota and in 1871 located in New Haven on the farm which has since been his home. In September 1880 he was united in marriage, at Rochester, with Miss Ellen Roderick, of New Haven, who survives him. Mr. Stafford was a familiar figure in this vicinity for many years, genial and large hearted, he held a warm place in the hearts of all who knew him. For many years he has been a member of Jo Mower Post, G. A. R. of this place, whose members will lose, in his death, a true comrade and his associates a steadfast friend. He was one of seven children, all of whom, except one, Alice, survive him. His aged father also survives to mourn his loss. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in this village Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the interment was made in Pine Island cemetery. Last Saturday she fell and sustained a fracture of the hip, from the shock of which injury she was not able to rally. Prior to the accident she had enjoyed fairly good health, was mentally alert and had not lost interest in current affairs. Mrs Stafford came to Decatur before the days of railroads, traveling in a covered wagon. In spite of the hardships she had endured, she said she had always enjoyed the life. Her Experiences then were common to all others. They had plenty of the necessities of life, but few if any of the things then classed as luxuries. Her maiden name was Sara Van Ornam. She was born Aug. 15, 1837, in Eastern Canada. Her Husband Rodney N. Stafford, died in 1901, She leaves the following Named Children: Reuben C., and Arthur C., Stafford and Mrs. Minnie Willias of Decatur and William H. Stafford of Hale, Colo. children; 12 great-grand children and two great-grand children. She was a member of Church of God. The body was taken to the undertaking rooms of J.J. Moran & Son to await funeral arrangements. Last Saturday she fell and sustained a fracture of the hip, from the shock of which injury she was not able to rally. Prior to the accident she had enjoyed fairly good health, was mentally alert and had not lost interest in current affairs. Mrs Stafford came to Decatur before the days of railroads, traveling in a covered wagon. In spite of the hardships she had endured, she said she had always enjoyed the life. Her Experiences then were common to all others. They had plenty of the necessities of life, but few if any of the things then classed as luxuries. Her maiden name was Sara Van Ornam. She was born Aug. 15, 1837, in Eastern Canada. Her Husband Rodney N. Stafford, died in 1901, She leaves the following Named Children: Reuben C., and Arthur C., Stafford and Mrs. Minnie Willias of Decatur and William H. Stafford of Hale, Colo. children; 12 great-grand children and two great-grand children. She was a member of Church of God. The body was taken to the undertaking rooms of J.J. Last Saturday she fell and sustained a fracture of the hip, from the shock of which injury she was not able to rally. Prior to the accident she had enjoyed fairly good health, was mentally alert and had not lost interest in current affairs. Mrs Stafford came to Decatur before the days of railroads, traveling in a covered wagon. In spite of the hardships she had endured, she said she had always enjoyed the life. Her Experiences then were common to all others. They had plenty of the necessities of life, but few if any of the things then classed as luxuries. Her maiden name was Sara Van Ornam. She was born Aug. 15, 1837, in Eastern Canada. Her Husband Rodney N.
