116808 This branch of the Stafford family emigrated to Canada in 1870, some also to went to Australia. STAFFORD, William (I87589)

116809 This census record is confusing. It lists Ethelred Stafford as a female widowed store keeper age 45 born in Scotland with a married sister Mary Stafford age 38 born in Scotland. Listed are daughters Adelaide, Mary, Agnes and Ethelred (birth records show that Ethelred is a male) and sons Edward and Stephen.

One explaination is that the widow was using her late husband's given name but it is more likely the census taker got his notes confused.
STAFFORD, Ethelred R. Jr. (I50663)

116810 This child is believed to be the daughter of Christian Peter and Mary Bosseck. The family plot has several markers in the same color stone, this being one of them. CP's obituary says "to this union were born seven children, one dying in infancy". This marker says simply: Ida 1880-1882.

BOSSECK, Ida (I115895)

116811 This child is sometimes referred to as Abijah. Or sometimes as Abijah or

reading the birth record, which is sometimes interpreted as "Abigail" and
other times as "Abijah."

She married peter Marshall of Newbury, Mass. before 1688. Perhaps removed
to Bosotn.

116822 This child is still in question as to whether he is a child of Samuel,
Sr.
and Ruth.

"There is a persistent tradition in the family that Samuel had another
brother named Joel. Diligent search has failed to verify this
impression
though from the nature of the eivdence given, it is believed to be a
reliable tradition. There is reason to elieve also that there were
other
brothers and sisters in this family, but nothing what ever is known of
them." Bailey Family History - South New Berlin Newspaper article.

Joel married Lydia THURSTON, b. Stephentown, N.Y.
If he had a family not the slightest trace of it has come to hand.
