Carl Don Stafford, of Pulaski, passed away January 7, 2013 at his residence in Pulaski.

He was born on November 29, 1939 and was 73 old.
He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ and was retired from Church Auto Parts.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 10th from 4:00 until 7:00 with the service
following visitation at 7:00 at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.
A graveside service will be Friday, January 11th at 11:00am at Maplewood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his,

Carolyn Faye Hampton Propes
March 23, 1945 - June 07, 2017
Carolyn Faye Hampton Propes, 72, of Hwy 49 in Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Russell County Hospital.
Carolyn was a hard-working lady. She worked for several years at Union Underwear. After that job closed, Carolyn went back to school and received her GED, which she was very proud of. While she was working towards that goal, she went to work at McDonald’s. She was then hired on at the Casey County School System as a substitute. Not long after, she was hired full time as a cook at Douglas Elementary. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carolyn accepted Jesus at an early age. She attended Atwood Chapel United Methodist Church.
Carolyn was the daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Evelyn Goode Chelf. She was the widow of the late Dallas R. Propes, who departed this life in January 2017. She was also the widow of William Robert Hampton, who passed away in September 2003.
She is survived by three children, Debbie Sue (and Danny) Tapscott of Liberty, David Allen (and Stephanie) Bryant of Alabama and Kevin Ray (and Debra) Bryant of Somerset; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Carolyn is also survived by one sister, Linda (and Roger) Withers of Campbellsville; and three brothers, Floyd (and Mary) Chelf of Louisville, Roger Chelf of Missouri and Greg (and Connie) Chelf of Campbellsville.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two siblings, Margaret Chelf Wise and Danny Wayne Chelf.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Arrangements are entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

CAROLYN STAFFORD SWEARINGEN, born October 18, 1925 in Wayne, West Virginia. Went home to be with the Lord, June 4, 2016.

She was the daughter of the late John and Maude Middleton Stafford. She grew up in Sandy Hook, Kentucky and moved to Lewis County in March 1951. Here is where she met the love of her life, Jack Lucas Swearingen March 1954 and they were married March 24, 1962.
She retired from US Shoe Factory in Vanceburg, Kentucky. She gave birth to one daughter, Melanie Dawn Swearingen Polley December 20, 1967, who she devoted her life to.
She loved being outside working in the garden and her flowers. She loved cooking, canning and sewing. She was a member of the Clarksburg Christian Church and loved her church family.
She was preceded in death beside her parents are 3 brothers, Ernest Stafford, Charles Stafford and John Stafford; 3 sisters, Martha Blankenship, Elizabeth McCoy and Dollie McCreer; sister-in-law, Bessie Stafford, Mary, Janie and Debbie Swearingen; brothers-in-law Brick, Dudley Creighton, Tom Swearingen and Vernon Cooper.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jack Lucas Swearingen; daughter, Melanie Dawn (Russell) Polley; brother, James Lee Stafford; one adopted grandson, Christopher David (Ashley) Burns; sister's-in-Law, Carrie(Melvin) Smoot, Gypsy Cooper, Jessie Lykins and brothers in-law, Bruce and Archie Swearingen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday June 7, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of the late John and Maude Middleton Stafford. She grew up in Sandy Hook, Kentucky and moved to Lewis County in March 1951. Here is where she met the love of her life, Jack Lucas Swearingen March 1954 and they were married March 24, 1962.
She retired from US Shoe Factory in Vanceburg, Kentucky. She gave birth to one daughter, Melanie Dawn Swearingen Polley December 20, 1967, who she devoted her life to.
She loved being outside working in the garden and her flowers. She loved cooking, canning and sewing. She was a member of the Clarksburg Christian Church and loved her church family.
She was preceded in death beside her parents are 3 brothers, Ernest Stafford, Charles Stafford and John Stafford; 3 sisters, Martha Blankenship, Elizabeth McCoy and Dollie McCreer; sister-in-law, Bessie Stafford, Mary, Janie and Debbie Swearingen; brothers-in-law Brick, Dudley Creighton, Tom Swearingen and Vernon Cooper.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Jack Lucas Swearingen; daughter, Melanie Dawn (Russell) Polley; brother, James Lee Stafford; one adopted grandson, Christopher David (Ashley) Burns; sister's-in-Law, Carrie(Melvin) Smoot, Gypsy Cooper, Jessie Lykins and brothers in-law, Bruce and Archie Swearingen.

Carrie Hicks, age 74, of Humpback Mountain Road in Spruce Pine, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Care Partners in Asheville, NC.

A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Stokes Stafford and Sabie Greene, and the wife of the late Herman Hicks who passed away in 1994. She was preceded in death by her sister; Hazel Hoschar, brother; Steve Greene, and son Herman Hicks, Jr.
Mrs. Hicks is survived by her two sons; Paul L. Hicks of Spruce Pine and Ted L. Hicks of Green Mountain; her daughter ; Vanessa Lynn Young of Marion, sisters; Brownie Burleson of Plumtree, Frances Gragg of Newland and Beulah Staton of Spruce Pine, three grandchildren; Jessica Rahn, Jennifer Burleson and Christopher Hicks and seven great grandchildren.
The funeral services for Carrie Hicks will be conducted on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

She graduated as salutarian of the Class of 1934 of Hillsborough High School. She was a graduate of the then Keene Normal school where she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
She married Alexander Adamovich on June 29, 1945 and he preceded her in deathon August 18, 1974.
She was a charter member of the Beta Sigma Chi, Laureate Chapter and received the Order of the Rose in the Golden Circle and the Founders Award for sixty years of membership.
She was a member of the New Hampshire Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed going to Ogunquit, ME for summer vacations.
She is survived by daughter and son in law Alexis “Lexy” Kay Paskevich and Steven Paskevich Jr of Claremont; two brothers Maj John Stafford of the U S Air Force (Ret) of Goffstown, NH and Roger “Bill” Stafford of Concord, NH; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Evelyn French and three brothers George, James and Harold Stafford.
Burial will be in Mtn View Cemetery.
