She operated the Central Restaurant on Court Street for a number of years prior to her illness. Surviving are one brother, Eveett Hitchcock, Shinnston, W. Va., one half-sister, Mrs. Beaulah Roberts, city, one half-brother, Clyde Melvin of Missouri, a step sister, Mrs. Lydia McKenzie, city, Mrs. W. E. Roberts and Betty Lou Gambill, both of this city, whom she reared. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. W. f. Pettus officiating.
