Estelle Williams Butts, 87, of Pearisburg, departed this life for her eternal one on November 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Luther H. Butts, Jr. and their son, Mark H. Butts; as well as brothers Paul and Odell and sister Dorothy. Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Teresa Butts Fields and husband Granville, Pearisburg; her granddaughter Emily Moye and husband Scott, Pearisburg; her grandson Jeremy Fields and wife Rebecca, Charlottesville; her great-grandchildren Colton and Camdyn Moye; brothers Buford Williams, Narrows; Roland "Buck" Williams and wife Dorothy, Peterstown; sisters Jullia Ellen Stafford, Roanoke; twin sister Mozelle Stafford, Trigg; and Mary Williams, Greenville, SC.; along with numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.Estelle was born in Berton, VA on November 8, 1927 to Leonard Buford Williams and Naomi Maude Stafford. She grew up with a strong sense of family and a commitment to her Christian faith. After joining Pearisburg First United Methodist Church in 1953, she was very active teaching Sunday school, working with the youth, the United Methodist Women and in any other capacity where there was a need. She was an excellent cook and crafter and loved to share her skills with others. Even after suffering a debilitating stroke, her commitment to Christ and her family never wavered.Funeral services will be Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Pearisburg with the Reverends Brian Burch and Dr. Fred Austin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 on Sunday, November 16 at Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Take Two children's program at First United Methodist Church, Pearisburg.

She grew up with a strong sense of family and a commitment to her Christian faith. After joining Pearisburg First United Methodist Church in 1953, she was very active teaching Sunday school, working with the youth, the United Methodist Women and in any other capacity where there was a need. She was an excellent cook and crafter and loved to share her skills with others. Even after suffering a debilitating stroke, her commitment to Christ and her family never wavered.Funeral services will be Monday, November 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Pearisburg with the Reverends Brian Burch and Dr. Fred Austin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 on Sunday, November 16 at Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg.
