In 1956, at age 49, he had an accident that injured him very seriously and did major brain damage. Though he lived to age 81, he was unable to take care of himself after the accident. His wife, Geneva and son Bob, cared for him part of the time and he was in a care facility when it became too difficult to keep him home. In his youth, Dean was very athletic and physically strong. | STAFFORD, Dean Wallace (I1486)

840 | Died at about age 45 while some of her children were still young. William, her husband, had a paralizing stroke a short time later. Social services tried to take the children away from William saying he couldn't take proper care of them. They went to Springfield and Eugene, OR to get away from CA Social Services problems. The oldest daughter, Mary Eveleyn, mothered the younger children in Oregon. This was told to me by Mary Evelyn's daughter, Patricia (Anderson) Brannan in March 2007. | COLLAR, May Gladys (I81718)
